Dr. Eric Vermander

Doctor of Chiropractic, The University of Western States
Bachelor of Science, Honours, Human Kinetics, University Of Ottawa
While training for mountain biking and cycling competition, Dr. Vermander found himself questioning how the human body works and why it responds the way it does. This inquisitive desire naturally led to a path where he completed his Bachelors of Science, Honours, in Human Kinetics, studying exercise physiology, biomechanics and sports medicine at the University of Ottawa in 1999.
He worked in a multidisciplinary clinic and observed a natural, team-like, conservative approach to medicine. This sparked the desire to further study the human body and pursue a career in natural medicine. Chiropractic health care is a combination of natural and conservative, physical medicine. It was a perfect fit.
Dr. Vermander moved to Portland, Oregon to attend the University of Western States, one of the world’s best institutions teaching evidence-based chiropractic medicine. He graduated in 2009 and started his career licensed in State of Oregon as a teaching assistant of chiropractic science courses at UWS. Dr. Vermander thoroughly enjoyed teaching the chiropractors of tomorrow. In 2010, he joined the multi-disciplinary team at the Back to Wellness Centre in Burnaby, BC. Starting in 2019, he is also seeing patients at Vitae Health & Sport in North Vancouver, BC.
He is a member of the Canadian Chiropractic Association, British Columbia Chiropractic Association and College of Chiropractors of British Columbia .
Dr. Vermander loves living in North Vancouver, BC with his wife and daughter exploring the Coast Mountains and being a part of the Vancouver/Burnaby Community.
