What is chiropractic?

Chiropractic
care is about optimal health...how to get well faster and stay well longer.
Our bodies are exposed to many physical, chemical and emotional stresses. Our bodies react by either compensating for abnormal joint motion or contracting muscles that restrict the motion of spinal joints. This can pinch tissue, damage discs, strain muscles, sprain ligaments and possibly irritate nearby nerves. The chiropractic adjustment restores the motion in the restricted and dysfunctional spinal joints, thereby:
An initial chiropractic visit includes history, exam and treatment (30-60 minutes) while follow-up chiropractic visits (10-20 minutes) may include adjusting, soft tissue work, exercise, stretching and nutritional advice. Preventative care compliments an active lifestyle and prevents degeneration (see my blog post on this topic).
Dr. Vermander's goal is to facilitate your healing from either acute or chronic pain by utilizing hands-on skills, while educating you so that you can take control of your own health.
